Royal Geographic Society, Percy Fawcett, Lost City of Z

Colonel Percy Fawcett’s Royal Geographic Society medal recreated to perfection for 'The Lost City of Z'

2016-10-15

Toye, Kenning & Spencer's expertise was required once again by the film industry to recreate with supreme accuracy the Royal Geographic Society medal awarded to Lieutenant Colonel Percy Fawcett.

As the medal is highly protected within the National Geographic Society archives Toye craftsmen and women had to recreate the piece using only photographs of the medal. The Director of the film was adamant that the medal was entirely accurate and of exemplary quality to ensure its rightful place as a centre-point for the scene in the film.
